Africa and the Middle East: Egypt first, then one market at a time
We launch your product in Egypt first, then take the next markets in Africa and the Middle East one country at a time, through in-country partners we identify and check for your product — each country needs its own registration, and we have no offices outside Egypt. There is no tariff shortcut: Egypt's duty-free COMESA trade covers goods that originate in Egypt, so a device made elsewhere pays the destination's normal duty. What Egypt does offer is real regional trade — USD 9.9 billion with African Union countries in 2024 — and medical and pharmaceutical exports to Africa of USD 324 million in 2025.
UltraTeb Market Access is a zero-upfront-fee route into Egypt's medical market: UltraTeb registers, imports, markets, stores and sells your product, shares the risk, and pays you when it sells.
How do we help beyond Egypt?
-
Egypt-first launch
Your product proves itself in Egypt, with real sales data you can show the next market.
-
Market selection
We look at demand, regulation, payment and logistics to choose the next country — and say so when a market is not ready.
-
Partner identification
We identify and check in-country distributors and registration holders for your product, and introduce you.
-
Regulatory file support
We help prepare the documents each regulator asks for, in the languages it requires.
-
Tenders
Where a market buys through public tenders, we support the tender file with the local partner.
-
Shipping plan
We plan whether goods for a new market should ship from Egypt or directly from your factory, whichever costs less.

What will we never claim about Africa?
- That an Egyptian registration lets you sell in other countries — it does not.
- That shipping through Egypt makes foreign-made goods duty-free in COMESA or AfCFTA markets — it does not.
- That we have offices, registrations or customers in countries where we do not.
Which markets usually come next?
It depends on your product. Markets with strong trade links to Egypt are often the most practical next step — Egypt's largest African export markets include Libya, Morocco and Algeria (SIS, 2024). Gulf and other Middle East markets each have their own regulator as well. We recommend the next market in writing, with its registration route, when your Egyptian launch has sales data.
“Egypt comes first. We take the next markets one country at a time, with the right local partner, and we tell you what each one requires.” — Mohamed Dabees, Founder, UltraTeb
Frequently asked questions
Is an EDA registration valid in other African countries?
No. An EDA registration is valid in Egypt only. Each country has its own regulator and registration, often with a local representative.
Does shipping through Egypt remove duty in COMESA or AfCFTA markets?
Only goods that originate in Egypt. A product made in China, Germany or elsewhere and relabelled or repacked in Egypt keeps its origin and pays the destination's normal duty (AfCFTA rules of origin).
Do you have offices outside Egypt?
No. We cover Egypt directly and work with in-country partners for other markets.
Can you start in several countries at once?
We recommend against it. Each country needs its own registration and partner. Launching in Egypt first gives you sales data and a proven offer for the next market.
Why not use Dubai as a regional hub instead?
Dubai is a strong re-export hub for many products. Egypt's advantage is its own large market — more than 1,800 hospitals — plus regional trade links. Many manufacturers need both; our guide compares them.
