Where does Egypt publish its customs tariff?

Egypt's tariff is issued by presidential decree and published line by line in the NAFEZA national single window (nafeza.gov.eg) and on the Egyptian Customs Authority's online tariff (customs.gov.eg). Each 10-digit national line carries its MFN duty, its VAT column and coded rules for preferences and approvals — which is what this lookup reads.

Why does the 10-digit line matter?

The first 6 digits are international; Egypt taxes the 10-digit national line. Under HS 9018.39, for example, dialysis cannulas pay 0% duty and 0% VAT, while other venous cannulas pay 5% duty and 14% VAT. A broker's written classification protects you from reassessment.

How do I get 0% duty?

Ship goods that originate in the EU, EFTA, the UK or Turkey with valid proof of origin, such as a EUR.1 certificate or an origin declaration. Goods made elsewhere but shipped from those countries do not qualify. Other agreements (MERCOSUR, AfCFTA, Serbia) give full or partial reductions that vary by line; COMESA, GAFTA and Agadir preferences are not shown on the medical lines we checked and must be confirmed separately.

Which extra approvals appear on medical lines?

Most medical lines carry rule ق4120: import only with Egyptian Drug Authority approval. Several carry ق4122: goods imported for trade must be shipped from the country of origin or the producer's main centres. Glassware and some instruments need Weights & Measures approval; X-ray equipment needs radiation-protection release.

“Classify once, in writing, before the first shipment — a wrong 10-digit line costs more later than a broker's opinion costs now.” — Mohamed Dabees, founder, UltraTeb

Does the tariff show the new 5% VAT rate?

Not on the lines we checked: they display 14%. The 5% rate of Law 149/2026 depends on the device being used to produce goods or provide services, so it is decided on use, not by HS line.

Do COMESA or Arab (GAFTA) goods enter duty-free?

Those preferences apply only to goods originating in member states and are not shown on the medical lines we checked — confirm them for your product.

Does the lookup cover every HS code?

No — medical, lab and related lines only.

We pay the duty. You're paid when we sell.
