What is the difference between a plain tube with no additive and a plain clot activator tube?
A no-additive plain tube has no coating; clotting occurs naturally and slowly. The clot activator tube has silica particles bonded to the inner wall, which accelerate clotting so serum can be separated faster — making it the standard choice for biochemistry and serology assays.
